We were driving out to get the girls their pumpkin to carve when I saw this old (crap) car in front of us at the stop lights. “Must be a winter beater” I thought to myself. That got me thinking, when was the last time I heard someone use the term “winter beater”. The piece of junkĀ many people would purchase to drive around during the winter to save their new cars from the salt and the other damaging effects of the winter. Was the trusty “winter beater” replaced with those new SUVs and mega trucks everyone now seems to be driving?
Gardasil update.
Further to my post about deciding if we should allow our daughter to get the Gardasil needle, Caron had time to speak with our doctor on the issue. Basically she said that she recommends it and is giving it to patients at her office. But here is the kicker… Do you think she gave it to her daughter yet? NOPE! I think her reason/excuse was that she keeps putting it off or was it she was waiting for a better needle to come out. Whatever the reason, you’d think since she’s recommending it, she would be first to give it to her daughter if it’s really a good idea. So the uncertainty continues.
Funnies
Back to the drive to get the girls their pumpkins. Overheard Tehya say that her friend (can’t recall her name) finally got over hear fear of “apple sauce” APPLE SAUCE? I’m afraid of heights, tight spaces and snakes, but apple sauce? Here’s the part I found funny. Seems when she was a child/baby her mom would put her medicine in apple sauce to mask the taste, so every time she saw apple sauce she would think it’s medicine coming her way. I guess she figured out it wasn’t just apple sauce her mom would feed her
Vacation time?
Here’s a peek at one of the islands I traded to come to Canada. Tobago is probably one of the few places in the Caribbean that is not over-run by tourists.
