So far so good… my eBay project is going great and I’d like to share another tip with you today. Yea, I know it’s Super Bowl Sunday and you’re probably at some party gearing up for a Giants win
RESEARCH!
Regardless if you have the “best” or “most-in-demand” item on eBay there’s no guarantee that your item will sell. Take the time before you submit your listing to research what other eBay sellers are listing their item for. Yes, the PRICE. Try to stick with the same price as the competition so your listing does not get passed over for being too high-priced. Here’s a little tip I use.
I check to see what other sellers are selling the item I want to list. Then I drop my starting price a few dollars less, so my ad stands out as being cheaper to bid on. Here’s the kicker… on my shipping price I add back a few dollars. I’ve found that most buyers on eBay tend to look at the selling price and not pay much attention on what it will cost them to have the item shipped to them. Now, don’t get me wrong… it’s not my intention to gouge anyone with overly high shipping charges.
So have your starting price a bit lower than the competition and add the couple bucks to the shipping price.
Enjoy the game.
