I have a problem! I was 6 months into my VA position and I had to tell my boss that I had to leave for a week! How do I tell my boss that I couldn’t work for a full week, when I full-well knew that his business was super busy? Mr Ledoux was a very approachable person, but I was still hesitant. No problem Chris.. here you can use my Vaio laptop and AOL connection if you wanted to keep in touch while you’re in Florida. No he didn’t expect me to work, he knew I was addicted to the internet and didn’t have a laptop Turns out I could tell David anything, his door was always open.
Let your VA know that they can come to you at anytime if they had a problem, had an idea or suggestion to make things easier or be more productive. As mentioned in part 3 of this series… the VA is the front line and the sooner you accept this, the better off things will be. They’re the ones in contact with your customers, so by-all-means let them know you want their input. Let your VA know that your door is always open!
BTW.. back in the late 90’s the Vaio laptop was the cool toy to have. kinda like those MacBook Air!
How did you like this 5 part series? Leave me your comments below! Maybe you’re a VA and would like to add to the list of things you wish your employer did?
