4 Time Management Tips For At Home Workers.
April 28th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

Time management is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing process that must be practiced daily. The fact that how efficiently we manage our time determines to a great extent how far we are successful in what we aspire.

When you decide to be a work at home executive you may count on the flexibility it offers in terms of work schedule. Yes, when you work at home you can decide when you work and how long you work. This freedom gives with an added responsibility on your part. You need to be very careful about your time management especially when you work from home.

Corporate office or the comfort of your home any professional work demands meticulous planning and flawless execution of that plan. But in life things do not go according to the plan always. To be up and ready for a crisis effective time management is a necessity. Diligent time management gives you the capability to face a time crunch.

The following tips would help you be a time management expert and to be a successful work from home executive.

Plan with Care: You have to be clear about what should be done, how should be done and when should be done. It is necessary that you estimate the time required for the completion of every task. While doing so give allowances for emergencies and calculate the total time. Prepare a work schedule with the estimated time. Your time plan must be put into writing. This time plan chart should serve as a reference for your performance. As soon as works get finished modify the time plan and keep it updated regularly.

Organize Tasks: When doing tasks it is advisable to have a priority list. You should identify important tasks and give them top priority. According to the priorities set by you clearly define in writing what should be done and when. This would help you complete crucial tasks without hiccups and help you retain clients, their satisfaction and your credibility.

Never Postpone: Procrastination is really a dangerous syndrome that can affect you gravely. When you work from home there is no one to supervise you and control you. You are on your own. In such a situation it is very easy to procrastinate things. But this bad habit would prove fatal to you and deviate you from the path of success. So never procrastinate tasks. Finish on time, if possible ahead of time, what is to be finished.

Have a Contingency Plan: Despite the precautions a virus may creep into your system and it may get down suddenly. What do you do then? It is not about what you do when the crisis arises. It is about how prepared you are to face a crisis. So be better equipped to handle emergencies. Have a set of friendly fellows (work from home co workers) to lend you a helping hand with important tasks at the needy hour. And you also devote some time in your schedule to help others when they need. After all business/work is all about mutual benefits. Isn’t it?

Time management skills if learned and incorporated in your life style you can surely become a successful, reliable and sought after work from home executive.

How to make over $850,000 in 4 months, using your computer at home.
March 16th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

I’m always amazed by the claims you see on those ads for making money on the internet and working from home. Tonight as I rummage through blogs looking for new ideas for online income sources (no better place than blogs to get a glimpse into what others in your field are doing), since TV sucks. Blame the recently ended writers strike, the plague of reality shows or the fact that TV just sucks!

I came across a video that lead me to a blog posting that was impressive. BTW, are you using viral videos on youtube etc to drive traffic to your websites? Why not? After hitting yourself a few times across the head, get cracking on some videos. It was the blog by a fella called Zac Johnson and it’s called “Inside The Secret Life Of A Super Affiliate”. Zac old-boy, claims to have made over $850,000 in 4 months. BS? Well, that’s what many of you would think, but since I’ve been doing this affiliate thing for the past 7+ years, I know anything is possible. Shoot, my best month with one company was over $11,000…. aahh the good old days!

Back to Zac and his claim…

As I read through his post I was simply amazed. Right in front of me, if I had any doubts… was proof.

Take a peek at how someone makes over $860,000 in four months.

BTW..don’t you just love the way Zac included links (sign-up) to all the affiliate programs he’s affiliated with? Nice and smooth!

You’ve come a long way baby!

I remember seeing those ads for cigarette (in the national enquirer) when I was younger. A woman with a long-ass cigarette in her hand with the caption. I think it was in the Spring of last year I came across a video on youtube of this English fella (twisted teeth and all) who was on one of those “talent search / reality) programs. BLOWN AWAY! Yup.. this fella really had pipes!

Fast forward to Jan 2008 and there I was reading the latest (dr office standard of latest) issue of Readers Digest while I waited to get my weekly allergy shot and there was the same fella again. I guess… in less than a year he’d become a traveling superstar!

Take a peek/listen.. Paul Potts

Please leave a message!
December 11th, 2006 by Chris De La Rosa

There must be a reason why someone picks up the phone and makes a call! Then why is it they take the time to let it ring four times and as soon and they hear an answering machine they choose to hang up? How difficult is it to leave a brief message after the tone?

- if the call is not important in the first place, don’t call!

- if you do have a reason for calling and you get my answering machine, kindly leave me a message. It means that either I’m away or very busy with work. (the answering machine will NOT bite)

It’s Monday December 11th and that’s my pet peeve.

Make it a great week

Chris…

Safety in the home office.
December 6th, 2006 by Chris De La Rosa

In today’s work from home Wednesday tip I’d like to speak briefly about all those cords leading to the computer, printer, fax etc.

Cables need to be covered or out of the way to avoid trips and falls. Use a state-approved surge protector with equipment. Consider whether there are enough electrical outlets in your work space to avoid an overload.

Keep equipment away from direct sunlight and heat and provide adequate ventilation. Consider using dust covers when the equipment is not in use. Never place food or beverages on your computer equipment. Keep disks away from direct sunlight, heat, dirt, smoke, moisture, and magnets (phones, electrical motors, fluorescent lamps, etc.).
