The ladies at 5 minutes for mom are hiring.
August 29th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

Saw this posted on the 5 Minutes For Mom site and thought of you (readers). Here are the details…

We are looking for the perfect person to help us write and manage our newsletter.

If you are a stay-at-home or work-at-home mom with experience managing e-mail newsletters and could start helping us right away, you may be just the person we need.

Seems like a great opportunity to be part of a site and team of women who are on the rise. Full details about this great new job opportunity can be found here : Manage Newsletter Job opening. Before you apply, please do read the details about the position and make sure you follow their directions. i’d hate for you to get all excited and miss something that may prevent you from landing the job.

It’s 12.45 am Friday night and thanks to a large double double from Tim Hortons, I’m wide awake. Enjoy the weekend.. I think I’ll head out to Burlington for their annual rib fest sometime this weekend. Enjoy some mouth watering BBQ and make the most of the final days of the summer.

Worldwide there will 46 million telecommuters by 2011.
August 5th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

Bold, but accurate? If the traffic to our network of telecommuting career websites is any indication, that statement may just be correct. Humor me for a second. Go over to Google.com and search the word “telecommuting”, now search “work from home”. Now glance over to the top right where it displays how many results the search returned. telecommuting had 4,160,000 and “work from home” had 306,000,000. That’s right three hundred and six million results. Digest that for a second!

Here are some stats form the International Telework Association and Council or ITAC

1997 - 11.6 million employed teleworkers;  18.3 self-employed teleworkers
1999 - 14.4 million employed teleworkers;  19.0 self-employed teleworkers
2001 - 16.8 million employed teleworkers;  19.9 self-employed teleworkers
2003 - 23.5 million employed teleworkers;  23.4 self-employed teleworkers

Conclusion… if you’re interested in working form home, try and get involved now. As more people come online (think China and India) competition for telecommuting jobs will only increase. I guess this blog and my network of telecommuting sites are making this thing even more popular :) But hey! I already telework, so what do I care.

Leave me your comments.

The million dollar affiliate question.
July 29th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

Seems my recent post about “How are people making money online” got a lot of buzz. I’ve received several emails now from readers who are trying to make a go at Affiliate Marketing. I guess the picture of the last cheque I got for the work I did with one of my fav affiliate network, really pushed the excitement meter up!

In one email I received, Leisa asked “Do you ever mentor people?” At this point I simply don’t have the time, but this fall when I take a bit of a break I plan on working on a mentoring course. Don’t be scared off by “course”. It will be 100% free, but limited to serious people ONLY. I’d hate to know that someone was wasting my time and preventing someone with actual drive and ambisson from getting my personal attention. Look for this in early winter or sooner. It all depends on how many people are interested and how much time I can dedicate to this.

Gene also asked “how to get started” in affiliate marketing or telecommuting I assume. Getting started is very easy, but having the determination and patience to really make this work is what prevents many from achieving success. As far as working from home goes, luck plays a great part. There are thousands and thousands of people just like you who are trying their best to land a work from home job. Therefore you must be persistent in your approach. Your jobsearch cannot be a part time thing. It must be adopted as part of your daily routine, so you’re always applying for the jobs as they become available. Start by visiting Genuinejobs.com and WFHMarket.com on a daily basis to see the latest vacant jobs.

For those of you interested in Affiliate Marketing and making it  real success, here are a few links to blogs that I try to read. TIP - Read the comments people leave after each post when you go to these blogs. You’ll find that the open discussion in some of them is very educational.

http://www.superaffiliatemindset.com/

These should keep you busy for the next little while. Leave me a comment if you’d like to learn more about the blogs I read and why you should.

VA needed, contest winner and other work from home updates.
July 8th, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

So the gone fishing sign is now removed form my office door and it’s back to work. And what a crappy way to start. My star employee, sent me an email saying that she could no longer continue. This without any warning? We’ll to be quite honest, I saw it coming. There were days when she would not work and always have some reason or the other, but I never questioned her since I know life can be very distracting. I just wished she gave me the normal 1-2 weeks notice so I could find a replacement. Sudipa, great working with you and all the best in whatever else you plan on doing.

Virtual Assistant Needed!

So I’m back to square one with the hiring process for a new VA, but if you recall when I hired Sundipa I created a quick-start doc with…

- what I expecetd

- tasks I needed her for

- how to perform those tasks

So though I now have to sort through all the applications I received, it should be smooth sailing once I choose the right person. The training manual I created a while back will ease the transition for the new VA. Here’s the other thing I plan on doing… I’ll hire 2 VAs, so in the event one decides this is not for them, my back will be covered. I’m in the process of real growth and I don’t need this sort of thing slowing me down.

Plus, besides the normal non-disclosure and confidentiality forms, I’ll ask the new staff to agree that 2 weeks notice is a must to be considered for this position.

For those of you interested in the Virtual Assistant position, please click here!

CONTEST WINNER!

With the little drama I had with loosing my VA, I’m a bit late announcing the contest winner. I’ll be honest, with over 680 readers I was hoping for more entries. But, that said… a special thanks to everyone who participated. Can “Ardis” please contact me with your mailing address? Your’re the WINNER! As soon as you get your mailing address to me, the intems will be shipped out to you.

Look for another exciting contest within the next few days, with an even bigger/better prize.

BTW, did you notice that within 1 week after launching, WFHMarket.com is already being used by over 800 registered users? Imagine if we were charging a small monthly fee of $19.95 for memberships? That would see us make close to $16k in 1 week. Did we miss the boat on this? Nah! We’re here to help people aquire a work from home job and not cash-in on memberships! Hopefully the ads on the site will help pay for it.

Comprehensive career site that focuses on working from home.
July 3rd, 2008 by Chris De La Rosa

So what’s been keeping me so busy the last 3 weeks, you ask? A new career website dedicated to working from home, including a vacant jobs area, a work from home discussion forum and a blog about telecommuting. We officially opened the doors on July 1 and we’ve already seen over 520 registered users. But here’s the thing… we’ve not made this public yet with any sort of formal announcement.

This post is the first time we’re making it known that we launched this new career related website. I just hope our servers can cope when word hits the streets that we have an exciting new work at home dedicated website.

The Serious Jobseeker\'s Best Friend

So what’s the url? Http://www.WFHMarket.com As you hit the main page, watch the “How to use WFHMarket” video. it will get you up to speed in a few minutes. Rather than me trying to explain how to best use this new career resource.

Take a few minutes to see what WFHMarket.com can offer you and your career.
