The School of Dentistry, Communications Division is seeking a Writer who will be responsible for providing writing as well as editorial assistance in the preparation of website and printed materials. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Development.

****Please note: This position is a contractual/temporary****

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Assist in organizing, writing, and editing print publications for the dental school.

* Create and maintain website marketing content and photography for the school’s website.

* Create public announcements for distribution to alumni and other dental school constituencies.

* Work with printers and mail houses to produce and send professionally applicable materials.

* Perform administrative responsibilities including the maintenance of printing budget.

* Participate in development and implementation of special events.

* Assist with writing donor letters, contracts and agreements; and, other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and application of generally accepted grant writing practices.

Knowledge of generally accepted methods and practices in project budgeting.

Personal computer skills, to include spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, and the Internet.

Writing skills, to include excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading.

Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines.
