How are you making money online?

Over the years I’ve been asked that question about 500 times. No freaking joke! Then there’s the time you’re asked what you do and as soon as the word “Internet” leaves your mouth and the nano second it takes to reach the ears of the person asking you, it translates to ” I have a porn site”! It’s a common misconception that people who make money online do so with the help of nudity or some sort of fetish.

I won’t kid you.. I wish I did have a skin site.. I’m sure they make tons of money. But that’s just not my thing!

So how do I make money online? I started off doing support and website management for several top marketers and massive websites. These days my focus is building a network or telecommuting websites with solid and fresh content on a daily basis. Similar to this blog, I want people to have a reason to click onto my websites as part of their daily routine. These sites are then funded by the ads you see in certain locations.

The other part of my money making quest deals with being a part time affiliate marketer. There’s tons of people making the kinda cash that makes one sick just looking at the cheques they cash every month. I’m talking money most people work years for and never see… $xxx,000 - a MONTH! I kid you not!

So if you’re looking for a job you can do from home, please consider that there’s a lot of money to be made in affiliate marketing and it should be one of the options you explore. If you need any help getting started, leave me a comment.

Don’t forget to also check out the Money Making link that’s part of this blog.

But “ads” just arent always the way to go, unless you end up placing 5-10-15 ads all over your site on each page, which then, people are going to some visiting because their sick of the Ads. Myspace for instance. myspace has like 20 ads all flash, at times that ends up locking up my browser and im on a cable connection - just imagine those that are still on “dial-up” <– shhh thats a swear word. :D

Now with my site, its an internet radio station. We get plenty of visitors, but not alot donations or anything… I have 1 ad on an entry page, and 1 ad on the site itself. (2 separate pages). If I did like others do, and place 10-15 ads all over the site on every page. That will slow the site down, and stop people from visiting the site.

And on top of that, alot of “ad” places or affiliate sites require others to buy stuff, or Click links in order for you to even get 0.001 cent. If no one clicks, then obviously no one buys, therefore - you made a whooping $0.00. in which in time, thats what you will have every single month, because of the lack of support from your visitors.

So that is why “others” ask that most common question - specially when you post a check up that shows over 1000 dollars - “How are you making money online?” and pretty much 95% of the time - the answer given is - “With Ads”
