Isn’t Spring the best time of the year? Ever since moving to Canada I’ve always looked forward to spring… warm temps, the smell after the rain, flowers and plants, fresh cut grass (yep I love the smell of that also).. but most of all the smell of the BBQ. Mind-you a BBQ that’s been sitting all winter with prehistoric fat and meat remains, is disgusting to smell. (please clean you grill and save you neighbors the displeasure of the smell)
Cooking outdoors (Work from home Wednesady tip)
Many accidents occur in the spring when a gas or propane grill has been left idle for a period of time.. to reduce the risk of explosions, be sure to:
* Check the tubes that lead into the burner for any blockage from insects or food grease
* Check hoses for cracking, brittleness, holes and leaks. Make sure there are no sharp bends in the hose or tubing. replace scratched or nicked connectors.
* If you smell gas or detect a leak, immediately turn off the gas and don’t attempt to light the grill until the leak is fixed.
Happy grilling!
