Are you prepared for life after the storm?

After I did my routine ‘limo” service this morning, I though I’d pass by the grocery and pick up the few things we’re out off, since I was already out. The normal, bread, juice, eggs etc. I assumed since it was this early (8.30 am), the stores would be empty and I would have free-range to shop as I want. NO! Seems that there’s another winter storm on it’s way and according to reports we’re in for a huge one.

Yup! The friggin grocery store was packed! Seems everyone was out trying to grab food in the event this storm see them stranded in their homes. This had me thinking… don’t people have food in their home that could last them more than a day or two? Do people only shop for items they use up in a day. This is pure madness. Shopping carts filled to the top… but here’s the kicker, it’s what  I/we would consider JUNK food! Ice cream, potato chips, cookies, cakes…etc

As I type this blog entry it had me thinking… Am I prepared for life if something happens to my online income streams? I learned a while back not to keep all of my websites on the same server and to back-up files in the event I had a crash or something that shut me down. But what about if google adsense closes it’s doors, how will I supplement that income? What if my affiliations stopped operating? Worse yet, if the “spam kings” somehow shut the internet down with a massive spam blitz, that slowed servers down to a standstill?
Take some time to ponder this as you check your affiliate accounts this morning to see how much you earned yesterday. Are all your eggs in one basket? Have you made provisions that would see you through any rough spots? Maybe it’s time you did.

My mentor, David Ledoux told me something a few months back… “Build Businesses”. I’ll try to explain in my next entry.
